Wordless Wednesday: Koala in pastels

Not completely wordless Wednesday, this week I’m sharing my latest illustration with you. You may have seen photos of a Koala in an earlier post, the images I took provided me with inspiration for this pastel illustration.

Very nice. There is something about a drawing, painting etc that just captures more than a photograph. Looking forward to your next work of art. How about a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel? 🙂

Thank you 😊 I’ve had lots of requests for drawing pets, at the rate I draw I would be 70 by the time I got them all done 😄

Perfect medium to catch a cuddly koala

Thank you, it is a very good medium for depicting fur, especially on a beautifully textured paper.

    Lovely photo!

I saw an interesting clip about koalas on Science Daily and clicked on it immediately of course. They said that koalas cling to trees because it helps regulate their body temperature.

Thank you Meg! Another one of my hobbies that I spend limited time on but thoroughly enjoy 🙂

I liked your art gallery (previous post) but this was the one that caught my eye, Sam. I had no idea you could produce such lovely artwork. 🙂

Thanks Jo! Drawing and painting are hobbies I’ve always enjoyed, but don’t spend alot of time on so I go to class once a week to ensure that I get my fix 🙂 As you can probably imagine, it takes me a long time to finish one piece of artwork.
