Possibly a tad late to participate in this week’s travel theme from Where’s My Backpack however I needed some motivation to start posting more often and this provided the perfect kick in the pants. Taken reasonably early for the time of year, but not quite sunrise, these photos are a selection from our trip to Europe in November last year. Our morning walks were always crowd free, we would see people heading off to work or school but generally there weren’t many people around and we had the streets and piazzas to ourselves.

Oh wow I love your pictures of Venice, it looks so quiet ! Is it common for Venice to be flooded during high tide ?
Thank you, Venice is a photogenic city regardless of the weather. High tides happen more often at certain times of year and I think that St Mark’s square and immediate surrounds flood more than other parts of Venice. Check out the blog: http://lavenessiana.com/ for really good information on Venice and the high tides 🙂
Thank you for the link ! I will have a look
These are so beautiful. I stepped a while inside every moment. I wish you might make a calendar !! Or some postcards or gift cards via an app. We could request a set from you for a donation towards cancer or something. (Or of course, I could send a donation just for having the pleasure of being able to be healthy and able to travel — in person or viacriously : ). In fact your early morning pictures have motivated me to do that right now. Thinking of our friend Larissa and how she found the beautiful in every day, whether on her overseas travels or on her laptop in her hospital bed. Maybe these photos were Larissa playing hide and seek with us like she promised : )).
You are such a thoughtful, sweet person Cherie and I thank you for your kind words. Larissa too was special and her optimistic approach to life was inspiring 🙂
(Just popping back after making my donation to say thank you for your pictures and words … one of those gifts that gives twice : )) xox
You are most welcome. Thank you so much for making me smile 🙂
