They’re so lovely Jo and I wish we weren’t so far away because it would be wonderful to spend a couple of weeks exploring the coastal villages of Scotland. Like you, there is alot of coastline I haven’t seen but would love to so maybe I can start exploring a little closer to home π
Our UK house was on the East Coast of England on the very edge of Suffolk and Jo and I loved to get in the car in the latish afternoon and drive slowly through the very winding countryroads, with only the occasional rider on their mount sharing, into Suffolk “proper” because their we had our favourite Pub which looked a bit like the one in your picture above, roaring log fire, masses of books (and Jo thought he was in heaven), lots of Retrievers keeping everybody company. what a lovely and novel (to me) idea to decorate the outside of ones house with those little boats. You must have had a really lovely time there and I think a photographers delight. Carina
They sound like wonderful times Carina, I love to sit by a log fire and read but we don’t get much of chance to do that where we live because it doesn’t get that cold in winter. Pittenweem is a delight for photographers and artists, plenty of inspiration obtained from wandering those narrow little lanes.
Jo and I feel exactly the same re the log fire. In our tropical heat that would be the last thing we want πππ so sometimes we “escape” the city heat and drive up to the mountains in the next State. The place is called Ooty and there is no fan not A/C in our cottage, but always a roaring log fire, which Jo loves attending to, he sometimes stays up half the night for thisπ
My hubby loves fires too, he has an outdoor firepit that gets used on weekends. We also like to go somewhere cooler on holiday or for a night or two in order to escape the heat, some people think we’re nuts but we both love the four seasons π
I love these coastal villages, Sam! So much like my own north coast ones. I’ve never been up this coast but always meant to. π
