Weekly Photo Challenge: Place in the World

sunset, kangaroos in a paddock
Sunset in rural New South Wales, Australia

I grew up in the country, riding horses, bushwalking and swimming in creeks. My parents have lived in the same house for almost 40 years and are surrounded by a mix of farmland and bush. This scene is pretty typical of the area and it is a scene that always fills my heart with joy. As much as I love cities or walks along the beach, it is the countryside where I feel most at peace.

This is my place in the world.

I can feel the peace in that scene, Sam, but I want to go and bounce around with those Joeys πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

So very peaceful Jo πŸ™‚ The Joeys are fun to watch especially when you see them take a dive into Mum’s pouch, you just have to steer clear of the adults because the males in particular can be aggressive.

It truly doesn’t and nor does it seem to matter where in the world I am. The land and the wildlife are food for the soul.

Like you, I like the city but the countryside is amazing. It’s where I actually feel peace, detached from the stress in the world, and life becomes so simple. That is a lovely scene. It looks like there’s kangaroos hopping around? Beautiful πŸ™‚

It is the simple things in life that bring us joy and yes, kangaroos are quite common where my parents live and I never tire of seeing them πŸ™‚
