A sample from Swell 2014

The annual Swell Sculpture Festival is currently underway at Currumbin Beach Queensland. Traffic was bumper to bumper and parks were scarce but after 20 minutes of stalking potential parking spots we were successful and joined the hordes on the esplanade at Currumbin Beach. Bundy always enjoys an evening stroll, he and the hubby spent most of their time people watching and patiently waiting for me to finish taking photographs. Here is a sample of some of my favourites from this years festival.

It is an awesome exhibition, so many cool and creative ideas on display. It was alot of fun but I had to be very patient because we went at such a popular time of day and there were people everywhere.

They certainly are and the beach is a great location for such an exhibition 🙂

Fantastic, Sam! They seem to get cleverer every year 🙂 As I was running the gallery I was saying ‘that one’s brilliant… oh, that’s even better… oh, wow!’ I love the mesh dog and that hand with the fish and so many more! Thanks for sharing. Have a great week!

Thanks Jo, it never ceases to amaze me how creative people can be and I always find plenty of sculptures to fall in love with during Swell.

Gillie & Marc Schattner are always crowd pleasers with their anthropomorphised dogs and donkeys. Can’t wait to see what they bring to Syders this year. Cheers 2BD

Wish I could get to Sydney to see the sculptures again, love it!
